Our Story


Established in 1978, Paul Byron Shoes is 100% Irish Owned and operated, employing over 140 people. We are the largest Independent Footwear Retailer in Ireland.


The Company opened its door in Ballaghaderreen Co. Roscommon over 40 years ago and since then we have expanded to twenty two stores countrywide plus discount outlets and an extremely busy online shop. We have two distribution centres with twelve thousand pairs of shoes leaving weekly. The Paul Byron Shoes fleet with black and white logo is a daily sight on Irish Roads!


Paul Byron attributes a lot of the company success to his loyal and long standing employees who work tirelessly for the good of the business. We have a number of people who are with the Company over thirty years which speaks for itself in terms of job satisfaction and employee morale.


The aim of our company is to provide professional service selling quality footwear that is fashion forward at keen prices for the whole family.

Our staff provide a valuable service in ensuring that this ethos is up-held and experienced by all customers as they are fully trained in all aspects of measuring feet, customer service, etc.

Own Brands and Labels exclusive to Paul Byron Shoes – Alpina, Indigo, Jane Klain, Laura Azana, Laura B, Luisetti, Muya, Oliver Furey and Zen.


Wide Fit Brands include – Alviflex, Drucker, Dr. Cutillas, Joya, Pinoso and Xelero. We stock a range of shoes to accommodate common feet problems such as bunions, corns, hammer toes and diabetes.

At Paul Byron Shoes we regularly get questions from our customers regarding shoes and making orders. Below are the answers to some of the most frequent questions we get:


Why is there a UK and EU shoe size?

There are various forms of measurement for shoes including UK, EU, USA and Japanese shoe measurements. Each vary in terms of the manufacturer and the country where the manufacturer is located. At Paul Byron Shoes we use EU and UK shoe sizes.


I am a UK size 6 what is my EU size?

If you are a size 6 UK, your size is a 39 EU.  Below is a general guide to UK and EU shoe sizes:

How much is delivery for orders made on the website?

Delivery is charged at €5 per order to the Republic of Ireland with free delivery on orders over €50. Delivery to the UK is €7.50. For more details see our delivery and returns information page.


How long does it take for my order to be delivered?

At Paul Byron Shoes we aim to dispatch orders as soon as possible, this is usually with in a few working days of an order being placed but can be up to 10 working days during busy periods. See our delivery and returns information page for more information.


The shoes I purchased online is too small, can I return them?

Yes you can, you have 21 days from delivery to return goods to us for a refund.


I ordered shoes online, can I exchange them in one of your stores?

Yes you can, shoes may be exchanged in any of our 21 stores in Ireland. Please ensure that you have the receipt that was issued with the goods with you as it is required for the exchange. Check out our Store Locator to find your local store.


Do you offer store  or online gift vouchers?
